October Meeting & Elections

James L. Markham, senior aquatic biologist with the DEC, will be presenting on the steelhead in Lake Erie. His presentation will be a general overview of everything steelhead on Lake Erie, including stocking, strains, management, research, and the fishery, mainly focused on NY tribs.

Business Matters

We have had a great response to our call for directors. We now have ten candidates running for eight open slots on the board. Because of this, we will be having a more formal balloted election at the October meeting. When you come to the meeting, there will be a check-in table where you can verify your TU membership. If you need to renew your membership, you can do so at tu.org. After you verify your membership, you will receive a ballot. You must be present to vote.

Here are the names of the ten candidates. Bios of each candidate will be presented at the meeting before the voting occurs.

Dave Agness
Lindsay Agness
Nicholas Angelone
Mark Cottrell
Aaron DeRuyter
Scott Janas
Michael McNulty
Frank Payne
Chris Pollock (Incumbant)
Jill Werner

Every TU member, elected or not, can be involved in the director meetings and be deeply involved in the chapter. The only thing that an election to a director role does is confer voting rights at those meetings, and the ability to hold a board office.
