We speak for the fish!

Greg Brower

Secretary - Greg Brower is a lifelong hunting and fishing enthusiast. He grew up in Western Michigan fishing on small lakes and Lake Michigan for Coho, Chinook, and stream fishing for Trout. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1975 with a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife. His passion is to encourage fisherman to expand their familiarity with local streams, what equipment to use and find other like-minded outdoors people. Greg sees conservation as an important element to preserve the Upstate NY rivers and streams for the future of the sport.

Frank Payne

Treasurer - Frank served over 20 years as a board member and treasurer of Mercy Outreach Center, an organization that assisted volunteer doctors, nurses, and other professionals in serving the needs of uninsured and underserved persons in the Rochester area.  Frank started tying flies at age 13 and is also a rod-maker.  Frank is a long-time member of Seth Green TU.

Kyle Poag

Director - Kyle grew up loving to fish and backpack. He convinced his parents to buy him a fly rod as a high school graduation gift and has been exploring the great outdoors with rod in hand since. He is motivated and honored to help preserve the waters we all collectively enjoy.

Lindsay Agness

Youth Chair - She currently serves as the VP Youth Ed on the NY State Council for TU. Lindsay is also camp counselor for the NYS Trout Waters Camp held on the West Branch of the Delaware. Recently, she led the first Girls Scout Troop in NYS to receive their TU STREAM badge. Lindsay has been inducted into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame, for her lifetime devotion of “giving back” to the outdoor sports and conservation in NYS.

Lance Lascari

Director - Lance is an electrical engineer specializing in radio and wireless product design. He spends an unreasonable amount of time trying to figure out Irondequoit creek, often waving a tenkara rod in the direction of fish that could care less. He is keen to bolster our local cold-water fisheries and recruit others to do the same. Lance believes that better stewardship by local anglers will be critical to the sustainability and enjoyment of the fantastic creeks we have so close to home. He lives with his family in Brighton.

Nick Angelone

Conservation Chair - A River Patroller for the Douglaston Salmon Run, Land Steward to the Genesee Land Trust, student at FLCC for Environmental Conservation, and a newly licensed NYS Guide.  Taking an active part in citizen science, Nick is amongst the top 5% of iNaturalist contributors.  “My mission as a potential board member; is to continue to preserve and protect wildlife habitats, and improve accessibility to nature for everyone, while building lasting relationships across local communities.”

Jessie Hollenbeck

Director - Jessie lives in Pittsford with his wife, Stacy and daughter, Emma. He is a passionate advocate for our fisheries and the angling community. Jessie manages a local community center and spends many days on the water as a fly fishing guide.

Scott Janas

Membership & Diversity Chair - Scott’s love of fishing, and the outdoors in general was rekindled roughly nine years ago following a chance tag-a-long on a fly fishing outing with friends. Shortly thereafter, he started working at LLBean as manager of their Outdoor Discovery Programs and community outreach. There he managed a team of instructors in leading fishing, kayaking, archery, hiking and other outdoor activities. Scott has served on several boards and planning committees, including the YMCA and Village of Clifton Springs Planning Board.

Jill Werner

Director -  Jill grew up in the Bronx New York which offered very little opportunity to fish.  Her love for fishing began when her uncle would take her fishing in the creeks and streams of the Catskills Mountains during the summers.   Jill currently lives in the city of Rochester with her fiancé and fishing partner Al and fishes the local tributaries of Lake Ontario.  Her sons live in Colorado so you can often find her fishing in the Rockies.

Jim Wallace

Director -  Jim started fly-fishing as a teenager growing up in South Louisiana. He picked up trout fishing when he moved to Western NY. Protecting our fisheries has always been crucial to Jim, and he’s able to act on this through his involvement with TU and his work as Manager of the Orvis Rochester Store.
