Chapter happenings

Sportsman Expo at the Dome was a great success!
In the words of our chapter President, “Great news, the Expo was a big success this weekend… Be sure to thank all the volunteers for their help.” So on behalf of our chapter President, Mike Chochul, thanks goes out to those that volunteered their time. Our biggest success was touching the heart of a young man, Seth Simmons, as he volunteered his time at our booth and demonstrated his talents at a tying bench. The youth of today is key for tomorrows success with TU’s mission. A big thanks to Seth’s Dad, Mike, for bringing him out to the show. And a final thank you to Craig for reaching out to the chapter for the event.

Spring Stream Clean Up Planning Underway
The chapter is planning to be a part of TU chapters around the country in the annual stream clean-up days. A number of chapters participate in clean-up days each year. Volunteers will join together on their local rivers and streams to plant trees, remove trash and work together to continue their dedication to protect and conserve coldwater fisheries. Prizes are given to chapters that bring out the most volunteers, remove the most trash and involve the most community partners. Lets see if we can be at the top of the charts, we deserve it! Dates and locations will be announced soon. To get a look at the clean up efforts from the 2010 spring clean up read the short article or visit our photo gallery of chapter events.

Chapter Fishing Trip
Scott Seidman has some ideas for an upcoming fishing trip. He may have more to share at the chapter meeting.

Chapter to host NYS TU Council Meeting
Our chapter is honored to host the state council meeting in June. Watch for more information soon.
