DEC SLATES THREE “STATE OF LAKE ONTARIO” MEETINGS
Biologists to Update Status of Lake’s Fisheries
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced three public meetings to discuss Lake Ontario fisheries. The annual “State of Lake Ontario” public meetings will be held in Niagara, Monroe and Oswego counties during March.

Stocking the Oatka: Volunteers needed

Tony Malagisi, the Fish and Game Chairman of the Oatka Conservation Club and 15 year member of the Seth Green Chapter, needs your help to stock the Oatka.
There are 3 different opportunities to join in and help. The first will be near the end of March, the second will be around mid-April, and the last approximately mid-May. Fly Fishing School: April 24, 2010

The time is upon us once again! The annual Fly Fishing School is here for you. It will be held at the Perinton Community Center once again. The community center has been a fabulous host and we look forward to another successful year. The Cumberland Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is once again sponsoring the Pennsylvania State Fly Tying Championship. It will be held at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show Farm Show Complex, Cameron Street, Harrisburg on February 13, 2010, starting at 10 am.
There are 3 Categories:

Youth – Youngsters under sixteen years of age (must have been born on or after March 1, 1994)
Amateur – Any fly tyer who has never tied for money or other substantial remuneration
Open – Any fly tyer, professional or otherwise

Chapter Picnic was a rainy success

The 2009 picnic was June 17 at Pond View Shelter in Mendon Ponds Park. Our special guest at the picnic was Ron Urban from the NYS Council of Trout Unlimited. Ron had a few words to share with us about the better bottle bill and other happenings in NYS. The annual chapter raffle was drawn during the picnic and our winners were announced (or contacted if they weren’t there).

Our chapter raffle rotates on a yearly basis. That means you can order your tickets today!
We’ve been holding our annual raffle every year to assist in our annual fund raising efforts. All it takes is $5.00 and you have a chance to win some great prizes.
